I continue to be amazed at how fortunate
we are to have so many significant Alfas in New England. Tutto
Italiano always seems to bring out the best! This year in attendance
was George Fogg’s very rare TZ2, which represents in many respects
the epitome of Alfa Romeo’s racing effort in the early to mid 60s.
Just seeing this car in person would have made anyone’s visit to
Tutto Italiano worthwhile. Also drawing special attention were Roger
Cassin’s beautiful-in-black 1900 CSS and Fred Frey’s
recently-imported and groundbreaking design Junior Zagato. [Seems
like there was another Fred in AONE who owned a Junior Z a while
back… —Ed.]
Alfa Romeo’s 100th anniversary brought a
significant turnout of superbly preserved and restored Spiders, GTs,
and Berlinas. Although time and space do not allow detailed
descriptions, without exception every car and owner exhibiting at
this year’s show deserves recognition and thanks for coming.
Congratulations to the following award
winners.
People’s Choice 1965 TZ2, George Fogg
Museum’s Choice 1954 1900CSS, Roger Cassin
Early Spider 1959 Giulietta, John Darack
Early Closed 1971 Berlina 200, Giorgio Kradjian
Late Spider 1993 Spider Veloce, Howard Wagner
I would like to thank all of our volunteers
who stepped up to direct cars onto the lawn and provide their
knowledge in judging. These are the people who gave up much of the
day to make this event a success. You guys are awesome!
