Text and photos by John DeWaele The prettiest day of the summer greeted the many participants and spectators at this summer’s Tutto Italiano. The grounds of the beautiful Lars Anderson Auto Museum once again played host to the largest Italian Car gathering in New England. In the midst of a huge gathering of Ferraris, numerous Lamborghinis, Maseratis, DeTomasos, Fiats and Ducati motorcycles, sat a very impressive variety of our beloved Alfa Romeos. As always, Spiders were in abundance with a large showing of Series 4 models. There was also a nice showing of GTV6s, some great-looking 164s, and a very cool yellow Junior Zagato! On the more rare side, a gorgeous white GTC made an appearance as well as a purple GTV from Canada. Roger and Karen Carlson displayed their 1959 Touring Spider, sporting shiny new paint. Rod Burdick’s Sprint Speciale sat in impressive company, surrounded by Ferraris, including a Michael Schumacher F1 car! Many folks stopped by the AONE tent to chat and pick up a calendar (still some left and we have half the year to go!). The foods lines were very long with the sausage sandwich seemingly the crowd favorite! Others chose to bring their own picnic lunch and enjoy the shade before making another trek up the hill! Something new is a non-Italian Special Interest Car area. This seems to be an up-and-coming addition to the day and attracted Porsches, a Ford GT40, Corvettes, and a Spiker, to name a few. All in all, a fantastic day! A great turnout for a wonderful event! Alfa Romeo awards included these received by our members:
