Map & Directions

Now that Summer has arrived in New England, we can finally enjoy the warm weather. But in another month, those warm-weather days will seem endless and you'll be looking for a break in the routine. A cure for those mid-summer blues is in store for all faithful Alfisti — a cool day of country road driving with some appetizing and rewarding rest stops!

Don't let the mention of Maine (so far away) dissuade you — the Barely in Maine Tour starts off at the Portsmouth Traffic Circle on the Route 1 bypass, conveniently located at Exit 5 of I-95. Come join us for a fun drive in New Hampshire and Maine, then New Hampshire, then Maine again ... we'll be crossing the border so many times you'll be stumped as to which state you're in. But be assured it will be a pleasurable state!

On lanes less traveled we will progress toward our first rest stop to enjoy a free sampling of kitchen treats that others simply dream of while searching their catalogs. Location? Well, without disclosing any secrets, suffice it to say you won't find yourself stonewalled here.

An elevated rest stop

Once on the road again, o'er hill and dale, past moor and mountain, we'll rise to heights you've never imagined driving your Alfa to! At this elevated rest stop, clear skies permitting, you can enjoy ocean views and the White Mountains with a simple turn of your head.

Returning to the rural roads for few more miles, our next stop is a visit to an artisan bakery, where we'll sample their fare, but we mustn't be piggy about it!

The tour will end here. A convenient eatery is at hand but, for those who wish to dine elsewhere, numerous restaurants are close by.

All this in a few hours' time, away from the heavy tourist traffic yet close to Summer destinations for those who choose to extend their holiday!Tiny Quadrifoglio
