Map & Directions

AONE'S final drive of 2015 will occur on Saturday, October 17, 2015 as we celebrate the fifth running of the Cape Crusade. We have had some spectacular weather on the Cape this fall and we should all think good thoughts for Mother Nature to bless us with a great day on October 17. The drive will go if it is overcast or a little damp and a forecast for clearing. A forecast for a rain storm will cancel the drive as there will be no rain date. The Webmaster will send a "GO/NO GO" message to all hands by no later than noon on Friday, October 16.

This year we will motor over the back roads of the Upper Cape (Sandwich/Barnstable) and the Mid-Cape (Centerville/Harwich), ending up in beautiful Harwich Port for lunch at Brax Landing Restaurant, which has a lovely view overlooking Saquatucket Harbor. We will see some familiar areas, some new areas and villages, and finish with a look at the homes where some of the One Percent spend their summers at Saquatucket Bluffs in Harwhich Port. We will avoid the Lower Cape (Wellfleet/Truro/Provincetown) because the Wellfleet Oyster Festival will be held on Saturday and Sunday, October 17-18. This popular event draws large crowds, heavy traffic north of the Orleans/Eastham rotary and difficult parking in Wellfleet. We should not be affected by it on our route. Some attendees of the drive may wish to go to Wellfleet Saturday afternoon or Sunday morning. Sunday afternoons are quite crowded.

We will meet at the Dunkin' Donuts store in Patriots Square at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday. We will have a drivers' meeting at 10 a.m. and depart immediately thereafter. If you plan to attend the drive and will join us for lunch, please send me an email at pdbostwick@gmail.com with the number of persons for lunch. If you will be late for the drivers' meeting at 10 a.m. call me on my cell phone (617-927-0057) with your ETA.

Hope to see you there.Tiny Quadrifoglio

After getting on the Cape, take Route 6 (the Mid-Cape Highway) to Exit 9A (the exit sign says "134 South, Dennisport"). Go south to the second stop light and turn left on T.F. Smith Road. Take the first left (Enterprise Road) into the parking lot. The Dunkin' Donuts store is on the corner just past the Cinema. There are several gas stations on Route 134 after you get off the Mid-Cape at Exit 9A for those who need to refuel or use restrooms. There is also a restroom in the Dunkin' Donuts.
