Ferrari Workshop

Saturday, March 19th

By Tom Ducibella

Alfisti & Ferraristi were treated to an opportunity to fight off the winter (what winter?) doldrums with an invitation to see the inside (literally) of a major Ferrari & Maserati dealership on March 19 at Ferrari of New England (FNE) in Norwood.

A huge turnout of AONE members (about 30 sign-ups) rapidly dispersed in the spacious showroom with about two dozen Ferraris and Maseratis, the prep area with primo cibo (cibo = food), coffee and more macchine, as well as part of the service area. Highlights included a 288 GTO engine out for viewing, demonstrations from Auto Nuvo of protective film application and their high tech paint products, and special cars, like La Ferrari and other relatively new models (F12, Cal T, FF, 458, etc.), as well as some older cars (308, 512 Boxer from 1979).

AONE would like to thank the staff of FNE for putting on the event and being available to answer questions. For many Alfisti, this was an opportunity to not only get technical info from Auto Nuvo, but see a new generation of Italian paint & leather colors and current models, as well as how Ferraris and Maseratis have evolved over the years.

If you want to stand out, consider the 2013 Cal T Spider (custom green paint & green upholstery stitching) for sale at FNE (also on the FNE web site). Although many consider red as the primary Ferrari paint color (in part due to race history), other colors are becoming popular and, back in the 1960s, blue was the most common color for many production Ferraris, even for some custom ordered models, like the 500 Superfast.Tiny Quadrifoglio
