By Dave Pratt Oops — we forgot to take any photos whatsoever at AONE's most recent Pizza and a Movie Party on Saturday, November 18th. We could have tried to cover our oversight like this: ... but that would be fake news and our club is above that, so you'll have to take our word for it that around two dozen AONE patrons filled our "theatre" for the fine food and fun entertainment.
The pizza arrived somewhat behind schedule (giving Vi and me a case of heartburn even before taking a bite) but still a few minutes before Speed Sisters ended, so it was steaming when we opened the boxes. Once again, the offerings of Pizzeria Alto Strada (a.k.a. Dedham's High Street Pizza) were deemed top-notch, and we'll continue to use them as long as they're willing to schlep a big pile of pizzas up the hill to our house. The main course was accompanied by salad that Vi had assembled and, of course, a bit more beverage.
As Driving Dreams was rolling its closing credits, we raised the lights and retired back to the kitchen for coffee and lots of delicious cookies brought for us by Ki & John Basel and Lauren & John DeWaele (thank you very much!). After milling around for a while, people started drifting out, bringing to an end another of our enjoyable movie/pizza nights. We'll be getting the next one planned for sometime early next year — contact us with ideas for films you'd like to see (preferably ones that people aren't likely to have watched before). First, though, we'll be seeing you at the Holiday Party! Pizza and a Movie Night Attendees Peter Walker & Meg Anderson P.S. Someone left behind a black two-bottle wine carrier and corkscrew — contact me and we'll make arrangements for returning it. |
